Girls use net more than boys

Despite popular belief it would seem that it is girls rather than boys who are using the internet more, this means that the “Geek” boy is nothing but a figment of our imaginations for today internet users. In a survey it was found that of those that create web content, blog, add images like photographs and video are mainly girls.

When it comes to blogging it would seem that thirty five per cent of girls while around twenty per cent of boys like to add their piece by blogging about it. While web design has a very similar ring to it, with thirty two per cent of girls and twenty two per cent of boys create their own websites or work on ready made web pages.

Maybe this is just a trend where there are more girls with the ability and desire to work on the internet or perhaps it is the time where women take over the net and the associated industries. This has been seen in other areas where women have found that they can dominate a certain area or indeed a whole sector of industry.
