Of course this is not directly correct, but the principle is. In a warning from the US Attorney General Michael Mukasey he is claiming that the massive amount of cash being raised through piracy and counterfeiting is in some cases going towards the financing of terrorism.

It is believed that terrorism groups now are following the some way that organised crime syndicates operate. This way they do not have the worry that the authorities can follow the money trail which would then go on the finance the terror cells.

What they are saying really is, if you buy something that is counterfeit or download pirated software, music or films, then you could be guilty of helping the terrorists achieve their goals of rocking our way of life and the increased security measures that governments are having to employ in order to keep us all safe.
