Google and the Olympic torch
Do Google filter out news that is sensitive to certain people? This is the question being asked of them, as on the day when the Olympic Torch relay passed through London, anyone would have thought that the whole thing went off without a hitch.
Yet other media certainly did not hold back on the coverage as the flame was passed from sports personalities to celebrities, all around them were protests from some very angry people. In fact at one time a protester even had his hand on the torch, before being briskly arrested.
But while all of this was going on, the Google news page for the UK covered less exciting news such as the contenders for the Mayor of London and how cold it is. But no stories of the Olympic Torch relay, a coincidence or a conspiracy? Everyone has their own ideas.
