BBC’s iPlayer to go on Wii

Ever since its introduction in December last year, the BBC’s iPlayer users have been growing faster than even the BBC could hope for. But despite all of the problems with the ISP’s over traffic, the iPlayer is set to become the latest addition to the Wii

Being available on a games consol like the Wii, is going to increase the traffic even further, as the user will be able to download programmes from the past seven days and watch them at their leisure.

However with the ISP’s continuing to complain about the traffic being generated by the downloading of these programmes, some ISP’s have even mentioned that the BBC should contribute to extra running costs.

But the BBC have categorically stated that as a content provider they will not pay the ISP’s anything at all, which will mean that at some stage there will be a point where everything comes to a head.
