Google’s wiki is launched

Having been in the testing mode for well over half a year, Knol is Google s version of an encyclopaedia. In fact, it could be compared with the famous Wikipedia but could have some interesting advantages for the contributors.

All that is required is Google login and that is it, anyone can submit an article, which will appear on the pages, but the bonus is revenue sharing. The contribution can opt in to have the search engines on special brand of internet advertising added to the page and share the revenues with Google.

This could be a great thing for writers who want to produce work that is of a decent quality and who wants to be part of something that could go on to be very successful. Although this could be compared with Wikipedia, Google expect contributors to make their identities known.
