YouTube cleans up
The video sharing site YouTube are preparing to make some sweeping changes in the wake of the high profile court case taken out by media giant Viacom.
It was through the court case that YouTube had to provide the court with a list of all YouTube members and their online activities. Although there was no possibility of the users themselves being implicated in the legal case, it was for Viacom to show exactly what type of content the members were uploading.
It seems that YouTube is taking this a step further by suspending the accounts of users who are more prevalent at uploading illegal or copyrighted content. This would normally be music videos, TV shows and even full-length films.
This action show that these sites which were originally run for and by the users, are now taking on a more corporate view of business.
