Spammers send out piracy emails
It seems that while internet users brace themselves to receive those dreaded emails from their internet service providers (ISP) about alleged downloading of pirated content. Now there is something else that internet users should be looking out for, spam.
The spammers are sending out emails to internet users, these appear to come from Media Defender and have the standard warning that they have been found to have been using Bit Torrent for file sharing purposes. It says that the full details of claim can be found in the attached file.
Of course, once this file has been opened then the user’s computer is infected with a virus.
This is a particularly mean way of conning computer uses, as everyone knows letters such as these are being sent out by ISP’s, but no matter how cautious the user is, it only takes one time for the spammers to get through.
