Apple throws weight around
Despite being the most successful music sales sites iTunes is feeling the pressure from the music industry, but instead of caving in to their demands, the management of iTunes have other more drastic plans.
It all boils down to what happens at the Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, D.C. after the National Music Publishers’ Association had requested this meeting in order that they can increase the royalty rates that are paid to their members.
The drastic action that Apple is talking about is quite simple shutting iTunes down, would they really do that? It is hard to imagine them closing the site down, especially when you consider the amount of money they have been making out it.
