Virgin Atlantic sacks FaceBook using staff
FaceBook is no doubt a brilliant success and with a hundred and ten million users worldwide, it can be used to get a message out to a lot of people all in one hit. However, this can go terribly wrong when it is used to voice your opinion, especially when it comes to work.
This is what some employees of airline Virgin Atlantic found with some of their staff who for whatever reason they had, decided to post their thoughts about the airline on their FaceBook pages.
The postings stated that the planes were full of cockroaches and there were also some insulting comments about the passengers who flew from Gatwick airport in London.
Thirteen staff has effectively been dismissed from the airline, because of breaking the company’s policies and inappropriate behaviour.
FaceBook can be a great tool for members to share photos and thoughts, yet putting something online about your employer is just going to lead to trouble.
