Wi-Fi in the air
Getting access to the internet while on a long flight can be a useful thing, the user can stay in touch and even do a bit of surfing to pass the time, but there are still some issues with laptop owners being able to access the internet in the confines of a plane.
These issues range from what people look at on the internet and how much passengers with laptops would interfere with other passengers.
Here are some points to think about; when in flight internet access becomes the normality:
Your last bastion of Internet Free peace is gone
Total bandwidth is not as fast as Cable Modem
Bandwidth is shared between customers
You have to pay
Have to wait until the plane reaches safe altitude
VOIP will be blocked
Laptop battery will run out fast
Porn may not be blocked
There are pro reasons too, like webmasters can update their websites while being out of touch etc.
