Is Google penalising paid links?

It would appear that over the past couple of months, Google have been putting it around that they frown upon some paid links and those sites who do not take any notice, would suffer the consequences.

It is possible that site owners who buy links may be putting their creditability at risk, as well as the site ranking. Google have clearly pointed out to webmasters who use paid links and if you follow the guidelines there should be any problems at all, but to not follow the guidelines you should do so at your own risk or rather at the sites risk of losing out.

There is an approved list of places to buy links from; this would be helpful if anyone could get of the list!

Well then, here are some of the link brokers that Google like:

AdBrite
Quigo
IndustryBrains
Microsoft AdCenter
Yahoo! Publisher Network
Any site that doesn’t pass PageRank

It has to be worth looking deeper into this.
