Cybercops wanted

There are calls for the internet to be policed if the amount of frauds and threats to personal data are to be controlled, according to Mary Landesman of ScanSafe.

Recently there has been a huge increase in the amount of scareware being pushed around the internet; this is where computer users are being lured into downloading free software in an attempt to rid the computers of viruses.

The idea being to pursued users to pay for something that they do not really need and in fact for a product that does nothing to protect the user’s computer from the threats out there.

However, an internet wide police force is going to be virtually impossible too, this will leave the problem down to the internet service providers and hosting companies.
