Does piracy matter?
This is a question, which will run for a very long time, simply because there are many angles to the situation. First are the genuine users of games, they have to input serial codes and are often restricted to having the game on one machine.
Then there are pirated copies which are sold at boot sales and by a man down the pub, these are cheap and fro good reasons they miss out on a some parts of the code and often do not work properly.
To add insult to injury we have the file sharers who seem to have it made, they get to play the games and apart from running the gauntlet with the authorities over illegal file sharing they seem to get away with it.
Does piracy matter? As with all things, it depends on how it is looked at and from what perspective.
