White House Twitter account a fake

A lot has been made about how the new president of the USA is well at home with the latest technology and indeed it was this that some say helped him to the White House.

Even on day one he and his team set to work on utilising the White House facilities such as the Twitter account, yet as it turns out this has been exposed as being a fake and has been changed virtually over night.

The @whitehouse Twitter account was supposedly used by both, President Bush and Obama to notify members of recent broadcasts and news, yet this account had nothing to do with the real White House at all, imagine that!

It just goes to show that anyone can open a successful micro blog account in the name of the White House and run it for a long time, without them knowing, or did they.
