Making a wiki work

Surprisingly the first “Wiki” style pages started to appear during 1995, the term is used for a collection of pages that are produced by a number of different people in order to create an informative page.

Yet it seems that business has never embraced this part of the internet as they have done with blogs etc.

The main problem would appear to be that within the company structure, lower managers and staff are unwilling to do anything on these pages because of the fear being reprimanded by senior managers.

However, these firms are missing out on valuable information and feedback; a wiki can bring people together under one roof, where staff from all levels can collaborate on projects in way that the company probably has not thought of before.
