Do not disconnect pirate’s plea from artists

There was a well publicised meeting of senior suit types from the government and entertainment industries last week, where the topic of internet piracy was high up on the agenda. The idea is still to force the internet service providers to disconnect the pirates.

The entertainment industry want to follow the French way of three strikes and you are banned from the internet. But in a strange turn of events the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) who are the singers, songwriters and groups feel that the three strikes rule will achieve nothing as it does not address the problem.

FAC say the industry are acting on their own behalf rather than that of the artists that they represent, who agree that the market has changed and it is the industry itself that should adapt to the new technology.
