A faster XP on its way
Service pack three for Windows XP will be coming out sometime in the first quarter of 2008, and the good news is that according to Devil Mountain Software, this will increase performance on average by around ten per cent, which is fantastic.
This statement will come to XP users as a bit of a surprise, especially as is was not that long ago when they tested the Vista service pack one, and they were no where near as kind to this update in fact they concluded that Vista was actually slower than XP, which is not good news for Vista users.
It’s a sorry state of affairs when a company as large and as experienced in the software business as Microsoft is, that they find that their latest product is not in competition with the normal Linux and Apple products, the largest rival to Vista is in fact the OS that it was meant to replace XP!
